Homeschool

Home schooling in the Neal house has begun. At first Logan was not too excited about sitting down with me and doing school work when there were bikes to ride and toys to play with but after we made these nifty school work sorters he found some renewed interest and spent 3 hours working today! The green box (cereal boxes we cut and covered with wrapping paper) is his "in" box. He looks through it to see what he would like to work on next.

Here he is working hard. Notice the pencil behind his ear! : ) He is also a tongue chewer when he's concentrating.
The completed work goes in the animal box. His teacher is going to be coming to the house to work with him too and he's very excited about the idea of showing her all his completed school work.

His writing skills are improving everyday. Here's a short little video of him doing his school work.

  1. Love the organization tools you are using. As organized as you are, if you keep with a schedule for Logan he will thrive at home-school. Good job to Logan for making school a priority! Makes my teacher heart happy:)

  2. How exciting! Is it his regular school teacher that will be coming to the house? Is this something she is having to do on her own time, or does the school district allocate time for her to do this? Does he still get to "attend" classes occasionally so he can keep in touch with his classmates?
Aunt Joya thinks you are super organized and inventive. Hummmm. Wonder where you get that from?
    Love to all Mom

  3. Yes, it's his regular teacher and I believe she is being compensated. She came by this afternoon for a half hour. She expects to do that 2 or 3 times a week so it's not a big time compensate for her. He get's to "attend" class through the internet so he can see them and participate that way. By the way, his elementary school had a confirmed case of H1N1 today. SO glad we decided to keep him home last week.
